FAQs
What services do you offer?
1
Golden State Women in the Fire Service offers hands-on fire camps designed for women and non-binary adults (18+) who are interested in exploring careers in the fire service and other non-traditional fields.
Our camps are led by professional women currently working in the fire service and include interactive, skill-based stations that reflect real-world firefighting tasks. Participants gain exposure to the physical, technical, and teamwork aspects of the profession, while also receiving mentorship, guidance, and insight into career pathways.
No prior experience is required to attend our camp. Our program is designed for beginners as well as those who may already be exploring a career in the fire service.
You also do not need to meet any specific fitness level to participate. However, the camp does include physical, hands-on activities similar to those performed in the fire service, so having a basic level of fitness can be helpful and may enhance your experience.
Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where you can learn, challenge yourself, and grow—no matter your starting point.

What makes you different?

Our camps are uniquely led by experienced women in the fire service who understand both the challenges and opportunities of entering a non-traditional field. This creates an environment where participants can learn, ask questions, and build confidence in a space designed specifically to support them.
We focus not only on skill-building, but also on mentorship, and empowerment. Participants have the opportunity to connect with role models, explore leadership roles, and be part of a supportive community that encourages them to pursue careers they may not have previously considered.
You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within 7 business days.
